Located on Moosehead Lake's largest island, this wilderness-style lodge melds a rustic remoteness with some surprising creature comforts. At roughly 5 miles long and 2 miles wide, Sugar Island's 4000+ acres owned by the State of Maine have dozens of miles of hiking and biking trails in designated Conservation Land. Originally built in the mid 1900's and expanded in 2004, this 2,500 +/- sqft. log lodge has an additional 800 sqft. in porch and outbuildings sitting on 1.37 acres with 300' of southwestern shoreline for stunning sunsets over Big Moose Mountain.
Recent renovations include an updated kitchen in 2020 with granite island countertop, custom Omega cabinets, gas range and refrigerator. Sleeping 9 people comfortably in 4 sleeping areas, there are a number of easy options to expand if desired.
