Property Description

Blacks Woods Rd, Cherryfield me... 1.63 acres of open rolling field with a great spot to build your dream house or fix up the current home to your liking. The property has a spring and septic, and the current home is about 180' back off the road on a paved driveway. The home is in need of extensive work as well as the garage and barn, but it is currently being lived in. Beautiful lot and a location that works out well for anyone who enjoys this area. Just over a half hour to Ellsworth, minutes to local shopping and about a half hour to Machias.

Cherryfield was incorporated in 1816 and gets its name from the large amounts of wild cherries that used to grow along the banks of the Narraguagus river. Cherryfield is rich in history and has a great active historical society. There are about 75 acres on each side of the river with many homes in a historical reference guide on the historical society web site. It makes for very interesting reading! The area is also rich in its history of blueberries in Washington County and during August the barrens are alive with productivity. The area is well known for its outdoor activities as well, be it hunting, fishing, ATV's, snowmobiles, horseback riding, hiking or walking/biking the Sunrise trail. There are outdoor activities close at hand for all seasons. The area also offers a lot of shops, stores and local restaurants with enough variety to hold anyones interests. The property is about 45 min from Acadia National park as well.
